Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Program

Pegasus Therapeutic Riding Program is an organization that brings the joy of riding to physically, mentally and emotionally disabled children and adults. NCMT is proud to support Pegasus by providing the use of its horses and facilities. The cooperation between NCMT and Pegasus dates back 25 years.

NCMT's Cortell Rececently Received Pegasus's 2007 Horse of the Year Award



The New Canaan Mounted Troop’s Cortell was chosen as the Libby Bartnick Award for Therapy Horse of the Year by Pegasus Therapeutic Riding at the 26th Annual Pegasus Horse show May 20 at Coker Farm in Bedford, NY. The award is given annually to a Pegasus equine partner in honor of instructor Libby Bartnick.Cortell received his prize carrots, surrounded by Pegasus New Canaan Mounted Troop Chapter Chairman Candice Krist, volunteer John Taraba, an unidentified Pegasus rider, New Canaan Mounted Troop members Anna McMorrow and Sarah Gaffney, and Pegasus Program Director Betsy Stein Medinger.
